We’ve partnered with two Air Ambulance services for charity fundraising
Through our Charity of the Year scheme, we’ll be raising money for two amazing emergency services – one in Yorkshire and one in Lancashire.
Emergency air ambulances operate seven days a week, 365 days a year. When called upon, their crews provide specialised treatment at the scene of an incident before transporting patients to nearby trauma centres and hospitals.
These incredible services rely on public donations to stay in the air, and today, Transdev is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service and the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
Transdev partners with two Air Ambulance charities
Every year, thousands of people across the North of England find themselves in urgent need of emergency care and requiring the medical services of highly experienced air ambulance teams.
These services depend on public support to stay in the air, and this year, Transdev are dedicating support to two of these extraordinary charities: Yorkshire Air Ambulance and North West Air Ambulance Charity.
Internal fundraising events will take place throughout the year, starting with Charity Walks in Lancashire and Yorkshire at the end of June.
These walks will be along the same routes driven daily by Transdev buses, and will be undertaken by members of their driving, engineering, office, and support teams.
Representatives from both charities have also been visiting Transdev depots in recent weeks to meet colleagues and raise awareness.
Transdev Project and Marketing Manager Matt Burley said:
“We’re proud to have partnered with North West Air Ambulance Charity and Yorkshire Air Ambulance as our charities of the year. The organisations were selected following a vote by colleagues across our leadership teams in Yorkshire and Lancashire, with strong support reflecting the importance of the work they do in our communities.
“The partnerships will begin with three charity walks at the end of the month, two in Lancashire and one in Yorkshire, following our bus routes. Colleagues and their families will be invited to take part, helping to raise both awareness and funds for the charities.”

Tessa Klemz, Regional Fundraising Manager at Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said:
"We are delighted to have been chosen as one of Transdev's charities of the year and would like to thank everyone involved for their support. As an independent Charity, we rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and communities to help keep our crews responding to incidents across Yorkshire.
"Partnerships like this not only help raise vital funds but also increase awareness of the lifesaving work our crews carry out every day. We are looking forward to working with Transdev throughout the year and wish everyone taking part in the charity walks the very best of luck."
Hayden Harrington, Regional Fundraiser at North West Air Ambulance Charity, said:
“We’re incredibly grateful that Transdev’s staff have chosen to support their local air ambulances, NWAA and YAA. It’s a powerful reflection of the difference our Charity makes to the communities we’re both proud to serve.
“As Transdev connects people across the North of England, this is a natural partnership, helping us reach more people with an important message: we receive no government or NHS funding. Their generosity is vital for us to be able to provide critical care across the region."
