Schools Out, Days Out – New adventures await with our buses

Take your family on a new adventure and create memories that will last a lifetime with Days Out by The Blackburn Bus Company.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere for the kids to burn off energy or if you’re looking for something to take them out of their comfort zone, there’s so much to see and do on our bus routes this Easter.

And with Group tickets costing £16 for one day’s unlimited travel for up to five people, you’ll have plenty of spare change to enjoy what’s out there!

Planet Ice

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics were a big hit this year, so why not try to see if you can become the next ice-skating superstar at Planet Ice at Blackburn Arena?

During Easter, you can book onto 3-day or 5-day Learn to Skate Camps – with three special Disco Skate events, including a special 2-for-1 Easter Disco!

Blackburn Arena is easy to get to from Blackburn Bus Station, using our Valleyline 22 towards Shadsworth or the 481 towards Bury – ask your driver for the Blackburn Arena stop, and you’re there.

Go Ape Blackburn

Do you fancy a more physical challenge? Go Ape Blackburn might be the perfect way to burn off some extra energy and conquer new heights at the same time!

There’s a Treetop Adventure aimed at those aged 6+, while the high ropes courses for older kids are filled with exciting tree-to-tree crossings with just the right amount of swooping ziplines back to the forest floor.

Simply catch the Hotline 152 to Witton Park, and it’s a brisk 10-minute walk to your next canopy adventure.

Clitheroe Castle

The 800-year-old Clitheroe Castle overlooks the Ribble Valley’s historic market town, where you can find everything from quality shopping to delightful dining.

Our Valleyline 22 route takes you to Clitheroe from Shadsworth and Blackburn, and The Burnley Bus Company’s Mainline M2 also serves Clitheroe from Burnley and Padiham.

BwD Leisure Blackburn

Looking to make a splash? The BwD Leisure Blackburn has an enormous 25-metre pool, a small learner pool with a moveable floor, flumes and a children’s water play zone!

There’s also a spacious 80-station fitness suite, a dance/aerobics studio, a separate Spinning studio sauna, steam rooms and two four-court sports halls – so there’s certainly something for everyone.

Simply hop on any of our buses to Blackburn, and it’s a short 10-minute walk through the shopping quarter to the sports and leisure centre.

Manchester Museum

If you’re willing to travel slightly further afield, Manchester City Centre offers everything that a family could need for an amazing Day Out – including the amazing Manchester Museum.

From dinosaurs and ancient Egypt to Living Cultures and archaeology, the Manchester Museum has it all!

The Red Express X41 runs throughout the day, going from Accrington, Haslingden, and Ramsbottom all the way through to the City Centre – then it’s just a few stops on the Bee Network to the Museum’s front door.
