Join us for our Summer ‘Open Day’ event at York depot

Calling all job seekers and career switchers, we are hosting a large ‘Open Day’ recruitment event at York depot on Saturday, 25 July.

This will be an opportunity for you to find out more information about what a job as a bus driver in the transport industry could do for you.

There’ll even be the chance to get behind the wheel of Transdev Academy’s training bus to get a feel for whether this could be your next career step!

Transdev’s Summer Open Day event on 25 July

On Saturday, 25 July 2026 – we’ll be hosting a large Open Day-style recruitment event at York depot (YO30 5YA), located next to the Rawcliffe Bar Park and Ride, from 10 am to 2 pm.

And we’re inviting members of the public from all backgrounds to attend.

Here, you can speak with driver colleagues and Recruitment and Training staff about what being a bus driver is like, as well as the many benefits that a job in the transport sector can offer.

We are looking for both Qualified and Trainee drivers – meaning it doesn’t matter if you have 5+ years of experience driving buses already or are completely new to the idea; there are spots available for those willing to learn.

Transdev Training Manager Dale French said: “From driving the most scenic routes along our stunning Coastliner and guiding our open-top CitySightseeing buses around York itself, we have a variety of roles currently available.

“And you can learn more about them all at the Summer Open Day, where you can get behind the wheel of our training bus for an on-site driving experience, and start the application process with us on the very same day.”

“We offer a competitive salary of £16.90 per hour, and our Academy training programme is one of the best in the entire industry – so no matter what level of experience you have, we can certainly help you become a bus driver. We hope to see you there on 25 July.”
