Ripon Cathedral

A medieval marvel, Ripon Cathedral is free to enter and has a fascinating history going all the way back to the 7th century. Serving the city and surrounding districts, worship is at the heart of Ripon Cathedral, with three services each day including Choral Evensong (5.30pm Mon-Sat, 3.30pm Sun) sung five times weekly by the nationally-acclaimed Cathedral Choir. Venture down the stone staircase into the Anglo-Saxon Crypt – dating from 672AD, it’s the oldest intact structure of any English cathedral in use today.
