Knaresborough Castle

Knaresborough Castle has a stunning setting overlooking the River Nidd, and if its stone walls could talk, they’d tell an amazing story! Visit the Courtroom Museum to experience an original Tudor courtroom and learn more about Knaresborough’s colourful past – and on selected days, step back in time through the Sally Port, the Castle’s secret underground tunnel once used during daring attacks and dramatic escapes. The newly-renovated Castle Critters activity room is packed with family fun, including crafting workshops, a play kitchen for younger visitors, a cosy reading corner and Lego building!

Reach Knaresborough Castle on our electric Route 1 from Harrogate Bus Station, where you can connect with The 36 from Leeds and Ripon and FLYER A2 from Bradford, Travel to Knaresborough Bus Station and follow the signs to the Castle.
