Transdev Blazefield is looking for a highly organised, analytical and proactive Commercial Scheduler to join our Commercial team in Burnley.
Working at the heart of our business, you'll be responsible for creating efficient vehicle and driver schedules that help deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective services for our customers. You'll play a vital role in supporting network development, timetable planning and tender submissions, ensuring our operational teams have robust and achievable schedules to work from.
As one of the UK's most respected bus operators, we carry almost 40 million customer journeys each year across nine depots throughout the North of England. The role
As Commercial Scheduler, you will support the Commercial team by producing efficient driver and vehicle schedules while ensuring compliance with legal, operational and company requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing efficient and workable driver and vehicle schedules
- Preparing and issuing all scheduling documentation, including duty summaries, vehicle output sheets, rosters and running boards
- Maintaining schedule data with real time information systems and depot allocation systems (DAS)
- Using OmniBus scheduling software to create and manage schedules and associated operational data
- Supporting timetable planning and the preparation of tender submissions
- Identifying operational challenges and opportunities within the network and working with colleagues to develop solutions
- Producing local bus service registrations and submissions to the Office of the Traffic Commissioner
- Analysing service punctuality and timekeeping performance
- Assisting with the programming of ticketing systems, destination displays and audio-visual information systems when required
What are we looking for
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience in passenger transport scheduling
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and relationship building abilities
- Good IT skills, including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- The ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to travel to different company locations when required
