The Harrogate Bus Company, part of the award-winning Transdev Blazefield, is seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our engineering operation at Starbeck Depot in Harrogate.

The role
As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading the depot engineering function, ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and compliance.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a team of engineers, electricians and body repair specialists
- Managing all planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Ensuring full compliance with DVSA requirements and Operator Licence obligations
- Delivering outstanding fleet availability and vehicle reliability
- Driving continuous improvement across engineering processes and workshop performance
- Maintaining 100% MOT pass rate and engineering standards
- Managing engineering budgets, resources and performance indicators
- Planning labour resources, shifts and on-call arrangements
- Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements
- Working closely with operational colleagues to support service delivery and business objectives
What are we looking for
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- Level 3 NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrable experience managing engineering or maintenance teams
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, compliance and workshop operations
- Understanding of DVSA requirements and Operator Licence obligations
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience within the bus, coach, commercial vehicle or transport sector
- PCV licence or willingness to obtain one
