Visit Accrington – Lancashire’s hidden gem

One of Accrington’s must-visit attractions is Oswaldtwistle Mills, a historic cotton mill that played a crucial role in the Industrial Revolution. It was in Oswaldtwistle where the spinning Jenny was invented, a pivotal moment in the history of the textile industry. And while you're there, be sure to browse the many stalls and shops that are now housed in the mill, offering everything from local crafts to delicious food. Culture vultures will swoop on Accrington’s Howarth Art Gallery, home to the stunning Tiffany Collection. This collection of glassware crafted by the legendary designer Louis Comfort Tiffany is sure to delight art lovers of all ages. 

For those interested in history and architecture, the Victorian Market Hall and the Town Hall are both worth a visit. The Market Hall has been at the heart of the community since it first opened in 1869 and is still a bustling hub of activity today. Meanwhile the Town Hall is a popular Asian wedding venue and also hosts a range of events, from comedy and wrestling to northern soul dancing.
