At Transdev, our expert team works with schools and colleges in our region to provide dedicated transport solutions.
In east Lancashire, we operate student bus networks connecting communities to study facilities, including five bespoke routes linking Clitheroe, Barnoldswick, Todmorden in West Yorkshire, Burnley and Wilpshire to Nelson & Colne College.
We also provide free transport for Burnley College identity card holders on our student bus services, from Thornton-in-Craven, Barnoldswick, Earby, Colne and Barrowford, and from Ribble Valley villages including Brownhill, Langho, Whalley and Sabden.
We also operate transport from various East Lancashire towns and villages to All Saints Roman Catholic High School in Rawtenstall, Clitheroe Royal Grammar School and Skipton Girls’ High School.
On each service, we work closely with college administrators and the education authority, Lancashire County Council, on routes, timings and travel passes, security and safety.
Meanwhile In West Yorkshire, we operate over 40 routes exclusively for students in association with the Combined Authority (Metro).
We know from experience that building a successful dedicated school transport network is about more than just running buses. Tickets have to be easily available … and excellent value.
Most of our school services issue and accept tickets from our standard product range, while three dedicated routes in Lancashire, and four in West and North Yorkshire involve pre-booked travel secured with a small deposit, with students using a ticket for the academic year from September to July which can also be used to travel on regular Transdev buses in the same area at other times.
Using our fast and easy to navigate Transdev Go mobile app, we can arrange for colleges to sell travel passes directly to students, with tickets delivered directly to a mobile phone, or to a smartcard for the academic year sold at a discount.
