‘Your Ticket, Your Say’ campaign leads to major bus ticket upgrade
7 months ago
In response to our mammoth 2025 customer campaign, Transdev has officially launched a major bus ticket upgrade in Yorkshire and Lancashire.
As one of the UK’s leading transport operators, it’s important that we listen to our customers’ feedback and carefully consider how we can upgrade our services to provide them with better value for money.
That’s why – after receiving more than 1300 responses to ‘Your Ticket, Your Say’ – we are delighted to have introduced our new and improved range of bus tickets across the North of England.
Listening to our customers and colleagues
Our customer-first ethos applies not only to our buses and routes, but also to our tickets – which is why in Summer 2025, we invested in a new research campaign called ‘Your Ticket, Your Say’.
From Under-21s travelling to college to Over-65s travelling to see family, Transdev received more than 94 hours’ worth of survey time data from people who wanted to shape the future of their journeys with us.
Using all that valuable feedback, we completely rebuilt our ticket range in Yorkshire and Lancashire – with simplicity and better value for our customers in mind.
Major ticket upgrades in Yorkshire and Lancashire
Ticket Zones - To make travelling simpler, we’ve reduced the number of ticket zones from twelve to one in Lancashire and from nineteen to three in Yorkshire.
Complimenting this is our new Lancashire Ticket, which will cover all Transdev buses in Lancashire – and our new Yorkshire Ticket, which similarly covers all Transdev buses in Yorkshire.
Ticket Coverage - To make travelling broader, we are offering better value for money by extending the coverage of certain tickets. For example, our Lancashire Ticket is now valid all the way to Manchester City Centre, while our Harrogate Ticket has been extended to Ripon and Pateley Bridge.
Ticket Fares - To make travelling more affordable, customers who travel more frequently will see a reduction in fare price for select journeys. This includes Day Tickets from Burnley to Manchester, or Harrogate to Leeds, and Group Tickets for up to five people, which have all seen significant reductions in prices.
Transdev are also proud to announce that following a successful trial in North Yorkshire, we’ve now launched our popular SWITCH single ticket in Lancashire!
A word from our Head of Commercial
Head of Commercial, Dave Wallington, said of the upgrades: “From students and seniors to families and commuters, an incredibly diverse range of people use Transdev buses to get around Yorkshire and Lancashire every year – and our tickets must reflect that diversity.
“That’s why Your Ticket, Your Say was so important to us, and why we’ve put so much thought into these changes, which represent some of the biggest upgrades that Transdev has made to its bus tickets in the past decade.
“Our customers helped shape the future of their own bus tickets, and the campaign reinforced the collaborative relationship that Transdev has with those who rely on public transport.
“Thank you to colleagues for helping to explain these changes to our customers. We appreciate that the transition is not always easy, but it will be worthwhile in terms of offering our customers simplicity and good value.”
