more than words - our commitment to safety
Our commitment to your safety is much more than just words.
Across our nine depots in Lancashire and Yorkshire, our engineering and operations teams are formally recognised by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), an independent body working across 171 countries to ensure consistent levels of delivery across national borders.
We’re proud to hold three standard marks from the ISO – but we never stop striving to make everything we do even safer.
For us, the key to reaching and maintaining ISO’s high standards is in recognising quality, safety and sustainability as requiring a programme of continuous improvement. We have to re-qualify to hold our standard marks every year … and to do so, we can’t simply rest on our laurels.
We have to reshape how our business operates, both on and off the road – and we constantly need to look for ways to raise our game, to make sure we still come up to the mark. It’s easier to win certification from the ISO than it is to keep it, as the qualifying thresholds we have to meet and beat are constantly rising.
Transdev’s three globally-recognised benchmarks for quality, sustainability and safety are:

-
Standard mark ISO45001 covers risk control and hazard assessment to reduce illness, accidents and injuries at work. Holding ISO45001 demonstrates our clear commitment to health, safety and wellbeing to colleagues and external stakeholders.

-
ISO9001 for Quality recognises efficient working and reducing waste, and is based on a plan-do-check-act process leading to recording and reviewing procedures, structure and responsibilities.

-
ISO14001 for Sustainability is an international standard that sets out an effective environmental management system. This underpins our process to cut waste and follow sustainable business practice

Together, these standards underline our continuous commitment to safety, by encouraging the highest standards across our business.
Our customers can have complete confidence that when they choose to travel with us, every aspect of what we do has been measured against globally-recognised benchmarks that are all about making journeys easier, better, and above all, safer.
From the moment a bus enters our workshops to the end of a customer’s journey with us, safety is – and will always be – our number one priority.
