Visit North Yorkshire

Two industries, one goal. Get people where they want to be.

We’ve partnered with destination management organisation Visit North Yorkshire – which is part of North Yorkshire Council – to promote bus travel as an opportunity to engage in sustainable tourism.

Working together to get people out and about

The tourism and transportation sectors share a key interest: inspiring people to visit the countless historical and cultural landmarks Yorkshire has to offer and enabling them to get there.

For the past several years, we’ve been working closely with destination management organisation Visit North Yorkshire to achieve this – particularly their flagship travel campaign, North Yorkshire by Bus.

Rather than focusing solely on our buses and routes, this campaign highlights attractions and experiences as a place of interest, then introduces bus travel as the natural way to explore it.

For Visit North Yorkshire, this supports their tourism objectives; for us as an operator, it opens the door to new customers who may have been difficult to reach through traditional marketing.

In 2025, Transdev Project and Marketing Manager Matt Burley was selected as one of 30 people for the North Yorkshire Tourism Advisory Group.

This group includes attractions, accommodation providers, arts and cultural venues, and national organisations like English Heritage and the National Trust – Transdev is the only transport operator represented.

Together, we can help promote sustainable tourism across the entire county.
