Making buses better this September

1 month ago Mon 9th Aug 2021

We said we’d make buses better, and here we are to tell you what we’re up to from September. There are improvements to routes and timetables, new buses on the way and more as we continue our transformation of the former Yorkshire Tiger operation into our new TeamPennine company.

There’s more fab and easy to remember brands being introduced alongside our already popular DenbyDarts buses. HuddsQuick is the new brand for our nippy, town buses in Huddersfield, Holmfirth Explorer for our handy, leisure link across the rolling Yorkshire countryside to Wakefield and CalderCountry is our new name for our new Mercedes midibuses in Halifax which will arrive before October, too.

Holmfirth Explorer X1 Holmfirth-Denby Dale-Wakefield

This new route replaces the complicated set-up of the 435/436/437 and instead there is now a simple, hourly timetable. Buses will run every hour Monday to Saturday and every two hours on Sundays. All buses will run via Shepley, Upper Cumberworth, Denby Dale Railway Station, Lower Cumberworth, Skelmanthorpe, Scisset and Clayton West. At school times buses will still serve Shelley College and Scisset Middle School. Between 10am and 2pm buses will serve the Green in Clayton West.

There will be new-look buses too, with posh & comfy seats, free Wifi, USB power points and next-stop information on board. You won’t be able to miss the bright pink buses in our new Holmfirth Explorer identity!

20 and 21 Halifax-Rye Lane

Of an afternoon, we will run the 20 from Halifax at 1420 and 1450 and the 21 at 1435 and 1505 to make the timetable simpler for you.

KirkheatonQuick 262 Huddersfield-Kirkheaton

A brand new bus for Kirkheaton, designed in consultation with local residents who were unhappy with the present service 261. We will start every hour, and run quickly along Waterloo Road into town. It will serve Upper Heaton, Waterloo Road, Waterloo and Wakefield Road, reinstating the popular link from Waterloo to Upper Heaton and Kirkheaton.

We are so pleased to be back in Kirkheaton – do please support us, as we’re really keen to build on this and make the route more regular and to add more links for you. Buses will be in a bright new KirkheatonQuick identity with free wifi, USB power, next stop announcements and posh & comfy seats!
