Spooky season in-and-around Halifax

There’s plenty going on this half-term holiday – including a frightening amount of family-friendly and adults-only Halloween events to look forward to!

So, we thought we’d share just a handful of shows, offers, and experiences that you can get to by bus.

👻 Supernatural stories at Shibden Hall: Oct 30

There are two special events at Shibden Hall this half-term, both falling on the frightful Friday before Halloween!

Take your little ones on a candlelit tour with the ‘Children’s Spooky Shibden Tales’ (4:30 pm – 5 pm) or dare to go on the adults-only ‘Supernatural Shibden’ later that evening.

If you don’t fancy walking from Halifax bus station, the 534 goes via Shibden Head.

🧙 Eureka’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Oct 24 – Nov 1

Young witches and wizards are invited to graduate from Eureka this half-term, with these brand-new drop-in immersive family activities. Running 11 am – 4 pm.

Design a magical coat of arms, create familiars, invent potion recipes and more!

Hop on any of our buses towards Halifax, and Eureka will be just a short walk away. 

🐈‍⬛ Halifax Borough Market treats: Oct 24 – 31

There are three Halloween events scheduled for Halifax Borough Market this half term:

Browse alternative art and jewellery at the Goth Market (October 24), enjoy being creative at Face Painting & Balloon Modelling (October 30), and Trick or Treat Around the Market (October 31).

All our buses to Halifax town centre will drop you off only a short distance away.

🦇 Crafts, potions and slime at Bankfield Museum: Oct 27 – 30

Akroyd Park’s Bankfield Museum has several October half-term events to keep an eye out for, including three family-themed Halloween events.

There’s Creepy Creatures Crafting on October 17, Perfect Potions & Spooky Slime on October 28, and Gothic Paper Lanterns building on October 30.

The 22 bus goes closest to Bankfield Museum, although most of our Halifax-bound buses will take you within a 20-minute walk of the event.
