Paying tribute to members of the Armed Forces this Remembrance Day

We’ve renewed our Poppy Appeal for 2026 to honour current and former service personnel.
This year, we’ve adorned hundreds of our buses with oversized poppies and are once again offering free travel to members of the Armed Forces on Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day.
Free transport for Armed Forces personnel
As the nation prepares to remember those currently serving and those who have formally served in the Armed Forces, we are renewing our Poppy Appeal for 2026.
This includes adorning several hundred of our vehicles across northern England with giant commemorative poppies.
We are also continuing our tradition of providing free transport to all Armed Forces personnel on Remembrance Sunday (8 November) and Remembrance Day (11 November).
This free travel option will be available across our whole network to current service members with a Forces ID, and to veterans in uniform or with their medals on.
Managing Director Henri Rohard said:
“This Remembrance Weekend and Armistice Day, we are reminded of the sacrifice that the men and women of our Armed Forces have made for our freedom.
“We hope that by displaying these large poppies on our buses, many of our customers will join us in remembering those who serve and will donate to charitable causes that support our veterans.
“And for those current and former personnel who use our buses, we hope the free travel option allows them to visit friends, family, and local Remembrance events on both Sunday and Wednesday.”

This past September, we attended a careers event at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire, where several colleagues who had served in the Armed Forces represented us.
We have also joined the UK Ministry of Defence’s Career Transition Partnership scheme, which helps service personnel transition into civilian employment.
