If you fancy a shorter 60–90-minute walk that’s truly stunning – and won’t leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere – the Nidderdale Greenway is a fantastic way to get out-and-about between Harrogate and Ripley.

A four-mile cycle and walking trail, the route takes you through the Grade 2 listed seven arch Nidd Gorge Viaduct, all while avoiding the busier commuter routes.

You can get to the start of the gateway from Harrogate Bus Station on the number 2 bus to Bilton. Want to just cycle or walk one-way? Catch the 36 on its way back through Ripley, towards either Harrogate or Leeds.
