Our Brontebus network is the friendly way to discover the Worth Valley’s unique mix of majestic scenery and literary history. At the heart of the valley, you’ll find the quaint village of Haworth, with its atmospheric cobbled main street lined with shops, pubs and cafes all waiting to welcome you.
At the top of most visitors’ list is the Bronte Parsonage Museum, housing the world’s largest collection of Bronte furniture, clothes and personal possessions. The house remains as the family would have known it – at its heart is the dining room, where the three Bronte sisters – Charlotte, Anne and Emily – walked around the table, helping each other with their writing.
In 1847, Charlotte published Jane Eyre, Anne released Agnes Grey and Emily published Wuthering Heights – yet within eight years, all three had died. The Parsonage and Haworth itself soon became a place of inspiration to artists, TV and film producers worldwide – take Brontebus B1 from Keighley Bus Station or Station Road in Haworth up to the end of the route at Stanbury, then walk along Back Lane to pick up a footpath to the Bronte Waterfall – or carry on along Back Lane to join the Pennine Way leading to Top Withins, an isolated ruined farmhouse said to have inspired Wuthering Heights.
