New scenic bus link from Harrogate to Skipton every Saturday from 22 May

1 month ago Fri 23rd Apr 2021

From 22 May we'll be running a new route in partnership with DalesBus between Harrogate and Skipton.

Running every Saturday, the 59 will be a fantastic way to take a day out, whether you’re heading all the way to Skipton or somewhere in between.

There are plenty of things to do along the route, and convenient stops for circular walks in some beautiful surroundings – with nearby pubs for liquid refreshment too! Even the journey itself is special – we’ll be using a double deck bus and the scenic views along the A59 are Yorkshire at its best.

We’ll be stopping at The Millstones, Blubberhouses for Fewston Reservoir, The Devonshire Arms for Bolton Abbey, Bolton Abbey Station for the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway, and Skipton Bus Station for all the wonderful things this nice and busy market town has to offer.

There are four journeys each way leaving Harrogate at 9.45am, 11.45am, 2.45pm and 4.45pm and leaving Skipton at 10.40am, 12.40pm, 3.40pm and 5.40pm.

Download the timetable here.

You can ride all the way, and even connect in from our other buses around Harrogate, for just £10 with a Daytripper if you’re on your own or £19 if there’s up to five of you with a Daytripper Group. We’ll accept all the usual Transdev passes and free concessionary cards too.

New Sunday buses for days out in the dales from 16 May

It's more good news if weekend days exploring our wonderful county are right up your street - DalesBus 825 Sunday buses start on 16 May, linking Knaresborough and Harrogate with some amazing destinations including:

Brimham Rocks - a National Trust site in beautiful Nidderale with an amazing collection of weird and wonderful rock formations, sculpted over centuries by ice, wind and rain.
Fountains Abbey - another National Trust treasure, and one of England's largest and best preserved Cistercian monasteries. Check their website to book ahead of your trip.
Masham - a vibrant and friendly market town with lovely Georgian buildings bordering the market square, and plenty of opportunity for a walk along the River Ure, or a coffee with friends in little local cafes.
Jervaulx Abbey - an enchanting and atmospheric ruin of a Cistercian Abbey
Leyburn - a proud Wensleydale town with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, unusual local shops, cafés and traditional pubs.
Richmond - an inspiring market town, with a Norman castle, views onto the River Swale and cobbled streets around the beautiful market square.

With a trip there and a trip back each Sunday, timed to give you a great day out at any destination along the route, there's something for everyone.

Download the 825 timetable here.

Our Daytripper tickets are best if you catch the 825 anywhere in Knaresborough or Harrogate and are £10 each for adults, £6.60 each for under 19s, and £19 for groups of up to five people. You can use these to connect in from any of our other local buses too.

If you're a concessionary pass holder, you won't be able to use your pass on the 825 but DalesBus have a Dales Privilege Rover ticket at £3 single and £5 return which you can take advantage of instead.

Ride out to Pateley Bridge on Sunday's too on the 24 - Sunday buses are back from 16 May, thanks to more support from DalesBus. Download the new times here.

And if you want to go further, you can connect onto buses to Grassington or Scar House. Check for  full details of the DalesBus network.
