An extra-large slice for Air Ambulances

This year’s Coffee & Cake morning was a huge success, with our colleagues raising over £1370 for charity in just a few scrumptious hours!

On October 1, we left our diets at the door as we raised a cuppa and a slice of cake for two incredible emergency services: Yorkshire Air Ambulance and North West Air Ambulance Charity.

‘Coffee & Cake’ in support of Air Ambulance

From cookies to Croissants, brownies to biscuits, and Victoria sponge to velvet delight – our drivers, engineers, and support staff came together earlier this month to support two incredible causes.

Colleagues could either bake a sweet treat at home or add a store-bought item to the table; all we asked in return was a small donation to one of two charities.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, which responds to medical emergencies in Yorkshire, or the North West Air Ambulance Charity (Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, and Cumbria) – whichever service covered their depot’s location.

With a cuppa in one hand and a slice of cake in the other, our depots really came together to help keep these medical helicopters in the air.

By the end of the day, our teams in Yorkshire and Lancashire had raised an incredible £1376!

Project and Marketing Manager Matt Burley said: “Thank you to everyone who brought a cake in and donated to these two amazing charities – £1376 is a brilliant total, especially for such a brief event as this.

“The men and women of Yorkshire Air Ambulance and North West Air Ambulance Charity are real-life superheroes, and the money we’ve raised here will go towards keeping them operational.”

Hayden Harrington, Regional Fundraiser at North West Air Ambulance Charity, added:

“I’m once again blown away by the great sense of community and generosity within the Transdev team. By raising an incredible £454.30 with their coffee morning, everyone involved is making a positive difference to their local community by helping fund our potentially life-saving work.”

In the Summer, colleagues in Lancashire completed a charity walk in support of North West Air Ambulance, while our Head Offices raised money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance through an internal fundraising event.
