When we set out to find the best people to join us, we soon realised that a fresh approach to recruitment and training was needed.  

So, we looked long and hard through the eyes of our new recruits – and not just at ourselves and the bus companies around us, but also at the retail industry, including how the best of the bunch train to deliver award-winning customer service and colleague development. 

‘the Academy by Transdev’ is the result: our network of highly appointed centres, based in Yorkshire at Elland, Harrogate and York, and in Lancashire at Burnley, with plans in place to develop more at our other locations. 

Each Academy gives our new recruits the best possible first impressions, alongside the latest learning facilities to help colleagues old and new to meet and beat their ongoing development goals with us. 

No matter what their new role is, everyone who joins us at team Transdev begins their career journey with us at the Academy. If you’re a new driver, you’ll complete a four to six week course alongside other trainees: we’ll fund your comprehensive training programme, and by the end of it, you’ll gain a nationally-recognised qualification. 

We’re proud to offer some of the best facilities anywhere in our industry. We’ve invested to create an all-new training centre at our Queensgate depot in Burnley, and completely renovated training areas, driver welfare areas and offices at our Starbeck base in Harrogate, and we’re going further at other locations soon.
