We are committed to delivering meaningful educational and career opportunities to young people – which is why, for the past few years, we’ve been collaborating with Ahead Partnership.

Helping young people get Ahead in life

In collaboration with West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Transdev, FirstBus, and Arriva, Ahead Partnership organises events for High School and College students across Yorkshire.

These events range from formal career panels to more informal speed networking, but each aims to show young people how to find work they can be passionate about and excel in.

We send all types of colleagues to these events: General Managers, Engineering Supervisors, Apprentice bus drivers, and even company directors.

As one of West Yorkshire’s largest employers, this brings insight from a variety of roles that the students can learn from.

Through this partnership, we have created new links with the local community, showcased our business as an employer of choice, and given our colleagues exposure to new opportunities to build their confidence and skills working with young people.

For the students we meet, we raise awareness of new career options they may not have considered and answer their questions about the world of work in industries they may not have previously considered.
