Our fantastic night at the Amazing Awards 2020

On 24 January we held our annual Amazing Awards, one of the most important things we do all year. Our business here at Transdev is all about people serving people and it’s a great opportunity to come together and celebrate our outstanding services and hardworking colleagues.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Ted Robbins, known for his roles on Holby City and Phoenix Nights, to guest host for us on the evening, as well as Harry Gration, Yorkshire’s favourite newsreader, as our Master of Ceremonies.

We are so proud of all our finalists and winners. As a company seen as one of the leaders in our competitive and vast industry, they really represent the best of us.

As the teams from York and Malton, we had a fantastic night with great company from right across Transdev and are delighted to see two of our drivers recognised.

Coastliner’s leading driver Eamonn Wall received a special mention with a Highly Commended for the Lifetime Star award. We are blessed with many long-serving colleagues, but our Lifetime Stars are singled out for their consistency of performance and continued efforts, day after day, to offer their best. Eamonn’s dedication, not just to us as a company over 20 years, but to his colleagues and his customers was mentioned in the numerous nominations he received. Summed up by the comment ‘more than just a colleague, a friend to all’, Eamonn’s pride for his job shines through.

One of our drivers Billy Crute was also presented with a Highly Commended for the Driver of the Year award – third place out of the shortlist of ten on the night, drawn from 980 drivers across the company. This award is for the very best of the best, from the shortlist of this year’s Pride of the North Cup winners. They are judged on a range of disciplines from the smartness of their uniform to a driving style that means it’s comfortable for all passengers. The judges said Billy’s naturally down to earth manner is the key to his success. Sharing a jovial banter with regular customers, a friendly welcome for newcomers and making time to answer questions and put passengers at ease, Billy makes customer service look effortless.
