We're teaming up with East Yorkshire to bring you a range of fantastic new add-on tickets to help you go further than ever before!

With summer just around the corner, this exciting news couldn't have come at a better time. If you're travelling to Scarborough on Coastliner, you'll be able to buy a range of tickets to travel on Scarborough Locals and Beachcomber open-top buses around town. 

Buy them from your driver when you board your bus.

£3.50 adult
£2 child

In addition, you'll be able to buy tickets for travel on Coastliner from onboard any East Yorkshire bus around town. 

Our CEO, Alex Hornby said: “We're delighted to announce this new partnership with East Yorkshire buses to offer customers on the coast a simple way to travel to and from the most popular destinations of the network.

“York offers an amazing array of family visitor attractions, while Leeds has some of the best shopping anywhere in the North.

“Our new through tickets will be available to buy on any East Yorkshire or Scarborough Locals bus within Scarborough, and will cover travel to the town centre, plus the onward journey with us at Coastliner. And with contactless purchase available, these tickets will make the journey as smooth as a sea breeze!”

The new through tickets will be available from Thursday 2 May 2019 and can be bought on any East Yorkshire or Scarborough Locals bus in the Scarborough Town Zone, covering the town itself plus Ayton, Seamer, Eastfield and Cayton, and on Coastliner 843 to Scarborough for the return journey.

Fares for one-way travel are:

Any stop in Scarborough to Flamingo Land or Malton: £9.50 adult, £6.50 child
Any stop in Scarborough to York or Leeds: £13.50 adult, £9 child

But that's not all.

You'll also be able to buy a range of through tickets for travel on Coastliner and Cityzap, to and from York to connect with East Yorkshire buses to places like Barmby Moor, Pocklington, Market Weighton, Beverley and Hull. 

You'll be able to buy the following add-on tickets on Coastliner and Cityzap buses to York - buy them from your driver as you board:

York to Barmby Moor, Pocklington or Market Weighton
£7 adult return, £3.50 child return

York to Beverley or Hull
£10 adult return £5 child return

You'll alos be able to buy these tickets on East Yorkshire buses from these places to York and Leeds.

East Yorkshire's Area Director Ben Gilligan said: “We share with Coastliner a real passion for making the bus a simple and hassle-free choice for travel, not just locally within Scarborough but also further afield.

“The introduction of these through tickets opens up access to several of Yorkshire's finest destinations to Scarborough residents and visitors, making buses easier to use and better value for money. We're very pleased to bring our local buses and Coastliner together, and with our services reaching all parts of the town, we're sure this will be a popular move with our customers.”
