Schools Out, Days Out – New adventures await with our buses

Take your family on a new adventure and create memories that will last a lifetime with Days Out by the Burnley Bus Company.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere for the kids to burn off energy or if you’re looking for something to take them out of their comfort zone, there’s so much to see and do on our bus routes this Easter.

And with Group tickets costing £16 for one day’s unlimited travel for up to five people, you’ll have plenty of spare change to enjoy what’s out there!

Manchester Museum

If you’re willing to travel slightly further afield, Manchester City Centre offers everything that a family could need for an amazing Day Out – including the amazing Manchester Museum.

From dinosaurs and ancient Egypt to Living Cultures and archaeology, the Manchester Museum has it all!

Travel to Manchester on our Witchway X43 express from Burnley and Rawtenstall, and relax in coach-seated comfort as we whisk you along the motorway and into the heart of the city.

There’s also the Red Express X41 from Accrington, Haslingden, and Ramsbottom.

Once you arrive in the city, you’ll need to hop on the Bee Network bus to the Manchester Museum.

Air Unlimited, Burnley

If they need somewhere to burn off energy, Air Unlimited in Burnley town centre is the perfect place to bounce along to – an indoor amusement arena packed with interconnected, inflatable airbags.

There are mega-slides, a giant ball pit, an inflatable football pitch, towers to climb, and so much more to explore. So, jump into the fun… Literally!

Simply hop on any of our buses to Burnley Bus Station, and you’ll be a brisk 10-minute walk away from this adrenaline-fueled adventure park.

Clitheroe Castle

The 800-year-old Clitheroe Castle overlooks the Ribble Valley’s historic market town, where you can find everything from quality shopping to delightful dining.

Our Mainline M2 serves Clitheroe from Burnley and Padiham.

High Adventure Outdoor Education Centre

Looking for something a bit more adventurous? The High Adventure Outdoor Education Centre might be your family’s highlight of the weekend!

You’ll need to book in advance, but there’s everything from Aerial Adventures and Archery, to Bushcraft and Canoe Rafting available on site – there’s also the Family Holiday Club, the perfect answer to “I’m bored”.

Simply hop on our Mainline M4 bus from Burnley and Colne, and hop off at either The Old Sawmill or Lingcrag Gardens in Cowling – a short walk to the main entrance, and you’re there.

Skipton Castle

The 900-year-old Skipton Castle is one of the most complete medieval castles in all of England and is well worth a visit at any season of the year.

And with the Castle sitting just behind Skipton Valley Woods, you can tie in a gorgeous walk through the greenery; there’s a one-hour easy stroll, a one-hour moderate walk, and a two-hour path to choose between.

Our Mainline M6 bus will take you right into Skipton town centre from Burnley, Nelson and Colne, after which it’s a short meander to the castle gates.
