It's hard to imagine that this peaceful valley once had a railway built to transport workers from their temporary homes at 'Dawson City' up to the reservoirs at Gorple, Widdop and Walshaw Dean.

Hardcastle Crags is a wooded Pennine valley just north of Hebden Bridge. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it features wooden dams which you can see, built to improve and monitor natural flood management in Calderdale.

What's more, it's just a short walk away from where our Brontebus stops.
