Let's meet Paul

Paul

August 2020 saw Paul join Transdev in his current role, and it’s a pretty varied one – he looks at customer numbers, which have been critical in assessing our recovery coming out of the pandemic. Paul also reviews route performance, network planning, sales of promotional tickets and he produce schedules for some of our depots.

Most recently, a lot of Paul's time has been focused on the integration of our newest subsidiary – Team Pennine – into our operation.

Managing our Commercial team also brings Paul into the loop on updates to our ticket machines, trialling low bridge warning technology and guiding any new ticket partnerships. We’re constantly on the lookout for exciting new opportunities with our corporate customers, and to support any events happening in our area.

Paul enjoys network planning most of all – it’s great that one of the main areas of his role is to work out how best to provide our amazing service locally, knowing all the while that we are such a key part of the communities we serve.

Paul's second interview for the job probably provided his most memorable moment (so far!) at work – he was dressed up in my three-piece suit and was greeted by two of our directors on a bus! Not what he was expecting, but it certainly helped to ease his nerves.

Paul says his team see him as personable and motivating, someone who rolls up his sleeves to support us when it’s needed. And he has been known to use homemade tiffin and sausage rolls to help with the motivation!

Speaking of food, Paul loves a good curry – when he was at Uni, he switched to eating a curry every day for a laugh – no problem, he has even been known to have curry on toast for breakfast!
