Let's meet Imtiaz

Imtiaz

Imtiaz is a long-serving and popular member of our Lancashire team, having joined us as a bus driver back in 1987. After a decade behind the wheel, Imtiaz moved to the offices as driver clerk, before taking on his current role with us in 2007.

Describing his work as “very busy, and can be stressful, depending on our staffing levels at the time”, Imtiaz enjoys rising to the challenge and bringing all the pieces of the puzzle together to make sure all of our bus services are covered every day.

2020 was undoubtedly a difficult year on a personal level for Imtiaz, losing family member and Blackburn driver Mohamed Iqbal Mohamed to Covid-19 – one of our Blackburn-based buses was named in Mohamed’s memory.

Colleagues say Imtiaz is “helpful, friendly and kind”, and their loyalty to him is reflected in the huge number of nominations received from the team in Blackburn which led to Imtiaz being presented with the Colleagues’ Champion award in our Transdev 2020 Honours – which he recalls as his most memorable moment at work.

In his free time, Imtiaz enjoys playing badminton, going out with his family and visiting his daughter and grandchild in London – and if he could see one performer, past or present, on stage, it’d be The King – Elvis Presley.
