We're using temporary timetables. We're still running most of our buses, just not as often, as we focus on getting key workers to work

Our fantastic night at the Amazing Awards 2020

2 months ago Tue 28th Jan 2020

On 24 January we held our annual Amazing Awards, one of the most important things we do all year. Our business here at Transdev is all about people serving people and it’s a great opportunity to come together and celebrate our outstanding services and hardworking colleagues.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Ted Robbins, known for his roles on Holby City and Phoenix Nights, to guest host for us on the evening, as well as Harry Gration, Yorkshire’s favourite newsreader, as our Master of Ceremonies.

We are so proud of all our finalists and winners. As a company seen as one of the leaders in our competitive and vast industry, they really represent the best of us.

As the team from The Harrogate Bus Company, we had a fantastic night with great company from right across Transdev and are delighted to bring some winners’ trophies home.

The 36 Driving Team won Team of the Year! In a company packed with 1,250 people, team work matters. This award recognises how great individual talents come together to create exceptional results and understanding of a share goal.

Customer numbers continue to grow on the 36 and new customers say they stay because they’re so well looked after by the driving team. They’re friendly, smart, and reliable and have gone the extra mile this year to deal with the difficulties of major roadworks in Leeds as well as the challenges – and thousands of extra customers – during the UCI world cycling event in Harrogate.

We had another success with Matthew Wallis, receiving Highly Commended recognition in the Engineer of the Year award! Often the unsung heroes of the business, our engineers truly help us keep the wheels turning. We have some exceptional talents in our garages and this award singles out the best. Matthew Wallis goes about his work with a smile on his face and is a great guy to work with – and they’re the words of his teammates.

Finally, Harrogate’s Andrei Szabo-Ludovic came second place in the Driver of the Year category. This award is for the very best of the best, from the shortlist of this year’s Pride of the North Cup winners. They are judged on a range of disciplines from the smartness of their uniform to a driving style that means it’s comfortable for all passengers. Andrei came a very close second, impressing with a performance that was accomplished in every way. He is the embodiment of The Harrogate Bus Company brand – smart, professional and thoroughly consistent in his standard of service delivery.

Once again, a big congratulations to all the winners and finalists!
